Day-Length during summer incorrect
« on: December 02, 2019, 02:54:34 AM »
Hey, I'm working on a Project based in Germany and the duration of the day seems to be incorrect. I set Latitude, Longitude and Time Zone (Lat: 6.7, Lon: 51.4, TZ: 1) correctly I think.
When I now go to 27. June 2019 the sun is rising at about 5 AM (correct) but is gone at about 5 PM (which is wrong) The day here last until 9-10 PM.

Are there any settings I'm missing?
I disabled Daylight Savings Time and set "Set Orientation" to 0 (with default 180 the sun will rise in the west, which seems wrong to me ::) )

Hi Strost,

One thing to keep in mind is latitude and longitude should be set using decimal degrees.  If you are unsure, you can use an online converter to get the appropriate degrees for your coordinates, such as this one here:
https://www.latlong.net/degrees-minutes-seconds-to-decimal-degrees

Let me know if there is a specific town/city/ or location you are mapping to and I can double check your inputs here.

Hey Chingwa, thanks for the reply.

I'm using the full decimal degrees google gave me already but shortened them here in the post :)
Lat: 6.815396
Lon: 51.45127
This should be on top of a hill:

Hi Strost,

It  looks like you've confused the longitude coordinate for the latitude.  Try switching them as follows:
Lat:  51.45127
Lon: 6.815396

When I put those coordinates and date in the sun rises at 5am, and sets at about 10pm.
